The members should be removed from the blacklist, the demand of the Taliban government
The Taliban government demanded the United Nations to remove its members from the blacklist.
Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, says that the inclusion of Taliban members in the United Nations blacklist is a violation of the Doha Agreement. Instead of putting pressure, the international community should talk to the Afghan caretaker government.
Zabihullah Mujahid said that he has said many times that pressure and force will not yield any results, the 20-year Afghan war has proven that Afghans do not give up under pressure.
He said that talks and compromises are the only way to improve, 20 to 25 of our members are on the UN blacklist, some of the blacklist members have died, some are still alive and some members are now working in the Afghan government. are
The spokesperson of Emirate of Islamia said that due to the failure of the Security Council to reach an agreement, the immunity of the United Nations has not been extended to the 13 members of the Taliban included in the blacklist.
It should be noted that the UN immunity enjoyed by Taliban members expired in August 2022.
