Qureshi warns of the rise of ‘hatred and nationalism’
In a stand out speech on the Srebrenica genocide, Labour’s Yasmin Qureshi warned of the dangers of rising “hatred and nationalism” in Europe.
Qureshi reminded the House of Commons of the “industrialised murder of just under 100,00 Muslims, the displacement of 2 million people and the genocide and rape of up to 50,000 women simply because they were Muslim”.
The Labour MP paid tribute to her late brother, who as deputy speaker Dame Eleanor Laing reinforced, “was obviously a great man” as he supported Qureshi.
